Translating the contents was created by bex-dk
I am using Joomla 3, so I translate my contents by using different categories for each language. I had figured this would work fine with Gnosis, but an issue just occurred to me.

My glossary is of very specialized terms. So my terms in both languages will primarily be the same. So how will Gnosis manage to distinguish between TERM in the one category and TERM in the other category?? Especially when using the term for showing the tooltips.

I haven't tried testing it, because so far I have no content in the second language. But if I'm I can't make my glossary the way I expected, I'd rather know now, before I spend more time and energy plugging terms into it in the first language.

With the tooltips, you can use the definition id, instead of the term, to distinguish between languages. So, for example, if you had two words, each spelled the same, but the definitions are in different languages, you could just use the definition id inside the brackets.

Also, make sure that you install the gnosis component version 1.1.1. The version 1.1.0 that comes in the package has a few bugs related to categories that 1.1.1 fixed.

Hope that answers the question. If not just reply and I'll take another look.

Can you give quick directions for using the ID? All I have found is search term. That doesn't cover the ID part. Or do you replace the search term with the ID?

I do have the new package installed and it is working very nicely. I have several terms in my glossary now and no issues using the back-end.

Yes, you got it. Just replace search term with the ID. The program will test to see if it is a number or not and decide from there whether or not to search the database terms for the word, or to retrieve a record by the id.

thank you!! So to be safe I should use the ID on all my terms, right? What does it do if I use the word and it finds two entries on the word?

I would use the ID in your case. I am not sure what happens if it finds two entries.
